OK the other reason for this blog is so I can keep a record of Daisy's progress in obedience class. At some point we will be working to obtain titles, but for now it is just class and homework every week. This week Daisy did great on the heel on leash, and the heel off leash it was just the halts she is having trouble with (she would be about a foot in front of me before she would sit.) Halt: called by the judge during normal pace int the heeling exercise. That tells me that I need to work on the cue that it is time to halt. Her long sit was disturbed a bit when the Newfoundland next to her decided to sniff the dog on the other side of Daisy. The long down was very good, and normally we go home after that but the instructor called for another long sit. Daisy wanted to go home and broke her sit three times. Yikes!
I would not have understood any of this before I started taking this class and I highly recommend it to all dog owners, it is always fun learning new things!
